What good is having a pool if you don’t have the accessories to enjoy it? But what exactly constitutes an essential accessory or any other pool product for that matter? The answer is to combine the obvious and a little fun and you will have the perfect match. Not only that, but you will find yourself enjoying your pool, even more than you ever thought possible.
Here are the top 10 essential products and/or accessories every pool owner should have.
1. Goggles
There’s more to your pool than just the top of the water. And you can’t very well see what’s at the bottom of your pool very well unless you have some goggles. Having some good pool goggles will open up a whole new world of enjoyment for you and your family when it comes to using your pool.
2. Water Toys
A pool isn’t complete unless it has some water toys for every member of your family, and some for entertaining as well. How about some:
- Beach balls and water volleyballs
- Inflatable’s of all kinds
- Water blasters
- Pool loungers and rafts
- Pool rings and rockets for diving
The sky’s the limit and don’t forget your pets. They like to have fun too!
3. Floaties
Floaties, also known as inflatable armbands, are essential, especially if you have kids. These are perfect for those who don’t know how to swim or don’t really swim all that well. Floaties are armbands that are designed to help the wearer float in the water. However, they are not a substitute for parental supervision because nothing is foolproof.
4. Cleaning Net
A cleaning net is essential in many different ways. A cleaning net will help you keep your pool clean. And, by keeping your pool clean and free from medium and large debris will help prevent that debris from getting into your filtering system and causing problems. In addition, a cleaning net can also help you quickly retrieve anything that has fallen into your pool by accident. This will also prevent someone from having to actually get into the water to retrieve such items.
5. Pool Cover
If you have a pool, a pool cover is another essential, but not just because it will help keep your pool clean and free from debris, but it will also help prevent wild animals, birds, snakes, rabbits, toads, frogs, ducks, and other critters from getting into your pool. A pool cover could also save a life by preventing a child or anyone else from falling in. Just make sure you have it secured properly; otherwise, a pool cover could just as easily become a hazard.
6. Grill
One of the most popular pool activities is poolside barbequing. And you can’t do that unless you have a grill. But sometimes a poolside grill can be a hassle. You have to drag it in, out, and around every time you want to use it. So why not consider having your pool company build you an outdoor kitchen complete with a grill and anything else you’d like to have? Problem solved!
7. Towel Rack
Having a poolside towel rack seems like an obvious thing; however, surprisingly, most people don’t immediately think about one until they need it. So don’t get caught without anywhere to keep your towels, wet or dry. Not to mention having a designated spot where if you have a bunch of people over they can all place their towels and know whose towel is whose and exactly where to put them.
8. Chairs
Yep! This is another obvious essential, but we’re not here to talk about chairs per se. We know you know that you need pool chairs. But what we are going to tell you is to put some thought into what types of chairs you need, how many you will need, and where you will be placing them because those are the questions people don’t think enough about before buying their chairs. Then when they go to use them, they realize they bought chairs that really don’t fit their needs, wants, or lifestyle. Don’t let that be you!
9. Tables
You guessed it. Again, we know you know that you need tables, but just as we discussed above with the chairs, the same concept goes for your tables. So make sure you give plenty of thought to what types of tables you need, how many you need, and where you will be placing them.
10. Fire Pit
You don’t know what you’re missing if you don’t have a fire pit in or around your pool area. Having a fire pit will mean you can enjoy your pool all year round. There’s nothing like sitting next to the pool with a roaring fire, sipping hot cocoa, or a hot beverage of your choice. What a peaceful, relaxing and/or romantic feeling and something most everyone will enjoy.
